Silentnight and Sealy Spring Show
We sent a party of 4 to attend the Silentnight and Sealy spring show: myself, Robert Hunter (our esteemed bed buyer) and two sales consultants who tell us what real customers think. I think we all did a sterling job working through to three in the morning discussing the finer points. As always the Silentnight Group showed enormous hospitality and professionalism. And fortunately the bed products on display lived up to the billing.
The successes appear to be in the higher quality divan beds that both Silentnight and Sealy have developed this year. For too long we have found the bread and butter of the Silentnight Group offering to be at a disappointingly low price point, but this year I think and hope that both Sealy and Silentnight have cracked the conundrum. For too long pocket sprung beds have cornered the mid priced bed market and in my view these pocket sprung divan beds were all spring count and no benefit.
So with luck we have bought some fantastic beds that the public will love. If not, at least we had a good time. I must also mention Sleepy Valley from Motherwell, and Morrisons of Paisley who contributed manfully to the evening’s entertainment. Just hope they can sell as many beds as they drink bottles of wine.
