Record Bed Sales Week at Archers

I am a glass half empty kind of guy, so all this talk about the recession coming to an end is readily discounted. But unfortunately I have to admit that there do indeed appear to be signs of a recovery.

We have just recorded our biggest bed sales week since January. The advertisers will say it is our 20% off Silentnight beds promotion – and going back to taking full pages in the press does seem to have had a success. However despite us selling enough Silentnight beds to keep the factory in Barnoldswick going for a month it has to be said that sales in the last few weeks have  dramatically improved for all our bed manufacturers.

You sometimes have to pinch yourself. After a torrid time since August  2007 and especially hot and steamy (is that what I mean by torrid?)since October 2008, can the recession really be coming to an end? In my guts I have to say yes! It feels that way. Just remember that I invested in Harveys shares when they were £3 per share (they went to zero btw). So my predictions do fail. Not this time though. We are on the mend.
