Millbrook bed manufacturers made a name for itself when, in late 1940′s, craftsman Walter Croll’s small workshop in Southampton landed a contract to carpet and refurnish the entire fleet of Union Castle Line ships.

Millbrook manufacturers have a system which they apply to all of their divan beds and mattresses.

This includes pocket springs in each mattress, hand sewn in individual pockets to prevent them rolling into one another, and hand side stitching, carried out by the most experienced upholsterers, in a painstaking labour using long needles and twine to reinforce the sides of the mattress.
