John Lewis are Kozee Sleep Bed Stockist
Kozee Sleep manufacture a range of divan beds and mattresses for John Lewis. Lots of new models, lots of new ideas. I thought time we took the gang down to visit and look and learn. Which we did last month. 10 of us in convoy to darkest Dewsbury.
I’m pleased to say we weren’t disappointed. It had been 2 or 3 years since I last visited Kozee Sleep. The factory was almost unrecognisable. To be fair it was a lot less organised than last time but the reasons were clear – a hive of activity in among the installation of new machinery and half finished mezzanine floors. The place was buzzing.
Of course we were curious what John Lewis were buying which on a cursory analysis looked pretty unappealing – a fancy spring unit with the usual smoke and mirrors trick of feature with no benefit. At least it wasn’t the old tried and tested nonsense of hand side stitching and horse hair.
Then we moved on to the good stuff. The Nova double sided memory foam mattress. Have never been sure about selling these single sided mattresses with no need to turn. Somehow I just know a double sided mattress is going to last twice as long. And if you come home one night after 8 pints and a curry, throw up and piss your pants, at least you can turn the Nova mattress over and get a dry night’s sleep.
And of course we saw what Kozee do best. A great quality mattress at a fantastic price: The Memory Touch mattress. An open coil mattress with memory foam at an amazing price and hugely supportive and comfortable too.
Now talking about 8 pints and a curry… it was too late to go home so we decided just to stay over in Dewsbury. It was a beautiful sunny evening and we had a very civilised barbecue on the hotel patio. So at two in the morning how could I be looking at Samantha picking up her credit card from the floor with her teeth whilst Jason squatted down with his knees above his lug-holes?
I looked at my half finished Rusty Nail and thought it was time for bed. Now where is that double sided mattress when you need one?
