Highgrove Luxury Beds are the new Lexus

If the Euphoria latex pocket 2000 super king size divan from Highgrove Beds was a car it would be a Lexus RX450h in metallic gold. I want one (of each). Both are hugely comfortable, great to look at and offer total luxury at an affordable price.

So today I visited the Glasgow Lexus dealer and he ran through the figures. One Lexus RX450h equals 50 Euphoria super king divans. Hmmm. But you can fit 3 bikes in the back of the Lexus. The Euphoria sucks as a bike transporter. Luxury pocket sprung mattress? Unbeatable.

Four years ago I promised myself when I first started driving my dad’s old Nissan Almera that when this recession finished I’d treat myself. The Almera has been sold off to a little old  lady in Edinburgh. But as yet no Lexus. No euphoria either. Not even a smidgen of ecstasy.

Last week we visited Highgrove Beds. It was great to see Ali on form showing off his latest range. We had already visited a couple of bed factories that week and as I lay on the Euphoria I realised that Highgrove is now the new Lexus of Beds: the beds I’d buy if money was no object. They have usurped Kaymed, my old assignee “Lexus of Beds”.

The bed market is changing so fast and Highgrove is setting the pace. Now you can buy a top quality bed for under £1000. And the old “best” beds are fast becoming luxury items you can only justify if you like throwing away £50 notes and shouting to everyone on Sauchiehall Street. “Look at me: I’m rich, and I’m stupid.”

And Kaymed? They are a great company but I’m afraid their beds are now my Bentley. Even if I could afford one I’d buy the Euphoria with latex and luxury bamboo cover, and treat myself to a new pair of bike wheels: www.wiggle.co.uk/reynolds-rzr-46-carbon-tubular-wheelset. Maximum rider weight is 81kg. So the fantasy continues.

Well today I knew we were going to have another record week on the internet. The internet knows no recession. I also visited our Glasgow Auldhouse store and wandered around our new Rauch wardrobe display. Once I get my gold Lexus I need a new sliding wardrobe in basalt glass. My Archers Sleepcentre uniform will look so cool behind basalt glass.

So it is all coming together. We are about to launch a complete new range of divans and mattresses for internet customers. We have a new range of budget divans and mattresses launching in the shops. The Rauch wardrobes are so fantastic I could live in one. Things are definitely looking up. That gold Lexus is coming round the bend.
