Shop History
In 1956, after many years of experience in the furniture industry, Barrie Sheffield opened his own bed shop in heart of Shrewsbury. To this day, The County Sleep Shop it is still situated at its original site at the bottom of the Wyle Cop. They are now the longest established bed shop in the county.
They have four showrooms dedicated to displaying over 35 styles of bed and bedsteads, be it budget bed frames metal, brass, hardwood, pine, leather and the still ever popular traditional divan set.
The business today is run by Barrie Sheffield’s 2 sons, Clive and Scott and their wives Karen and Janet, culminating in nearly 100 years of experience between them -a truly family business.
From surrounding areas like, Oswestry, Ellesmere, Shawbury and Telford it is certainly worth a visit.

The Houseman bed frame has a shaker style high headend and clean and fresh stone white finish and ranges from £149 for a single, to £240 for a king size.
