At last our new Archers Sleepcentre website is launched. There are a few rough edges, our thumbnail photos need to be upgraded and some formatting issues need resolving but in essence we are up and running – only 6 weeks late!

This new website will give us the functionality to offer bed and mattress packages, free delivery on promoted beds and bedroom furniture and enable us to offer free product with bed purchases. It would be great to be able to offer Free pillows with every new bed at times…..

Like all big projects much of the work that has gone in to launching the web site goes unnoticed. David and Dean, our IT team – IT1 and IT2 - have worked ferociously to check that everything has transferred over correctly and that the site functions all work. Developing our offers is now one of their new highest priorities.

Another big change is our ability to introduce Google friendly search engine functionality. We now have “static URL’s” for all our pages. Impressed? We can introduce much more descriptive text on each page to help customers decide what to do, and Google likes all this text. And we have John – IT3 – about to start working on all our copy. He is going to improve the readability of all the text and correct all the intentional spelling and grammatical errors which we done.

Like our bricks and mortar bed retailing business. We can always do better. So I do encourage everyone out there to contribute. You got an idea, you see a better way of doing things, you spot plain dumb errors. Let me know. I have been known to be grateful.
