Airsprung: Bed and Mattress Review
Manufacturer History
Airpsrung beds began as a small straw mattress factory in Wiltshire, way back in 1871.
Mr Hedley Chapman advocated quality and value for money even back then, and in the 1900′s, when mass producing and selling mattresses became much more common, Chapman modernised to cope with the demand.
In 1930, the wonders of the interior sprung mattress reached the public, and again, Mr Chapman modernised to meet the needs of his customers, evolving the mattress making process all the time, until 20 years later, the company name of Airsprung was coined in homage to the new mattress design emerging.
It’s hard to believe it began 130 years ago, but since then, Airsprung Beds is the head of a furniture group employing around 600 people, and just like Hedley Chapman weaving mattresses from straw in 1871, the Airsprung team are constantly looking for ways to improve and bring the best mattress possible to the public.
Products
Mattresses are, of course, the most famous export from Airsprung, and there are a great range to choose from, with something to suit all types of clientele.
The Tuscany mattress, for example, is available in a range of sizes, and incorporates a pocket sprung system, where each spring is sewn into an individual pocket, allowing the mattress to mould and move with the weight of a body.
The Shadow mattress is filled with a deep top layer of visco elastic memory foam which contours to the body shape, with added support from a lower layer of resilient base foam.
The children aren’t left out either, with an array of kid’s beds to choose from, like the Airsprung Beta divan, available in a girly pink hue.
The Beta has a tough Duraspring system in the mattress and comes with optional sliding storage underneath.
