Pairing a black bed frame with white bed linen is set to be all the rage in 2010, according to a leading interior designer.Combining black and white linen on double mattresses and leather beds has a bold graphic effect, according to Carolyn Trevor, who is a member of the British Institute of Interior Design.
She added that this look, occasionally complemented by splashes of vibrant colour, is influenced heavily by "the global economic meltdown", but also gives a home an urban edginess.
Ms Trevor added: "Team dark and dramatic colours together in a scheme for a theatrical look and experiment with a paint finish as well as colour to make a real statement."
Meanwhile, the Crown Colour Trend 2010 report identified St Germaine as one of the key interior design trends for this year.
Among the features of this trend are clean lines and simple detailing, with classic monochromatic shades brought to life by light reflections, such as off metal bed frames and mirrors.
