Silentnight Beds

Silentnight Beds are the largest supplier of beds in the UK. The company was founded in 1946 by Tom and Joan Clarke.  Silentnight Beds, based in Lancashire, is still owned by the Clarke family.

The Silentnight divan bed and mattress product range is underpinned by Silentnight’s patented Miracoil spring system that is used throughout the bed range. There are approximately twice as many springs in a Miracoil mattress than in a standard mattress. The system’s unique interconnections and design minimises partner disturbance and offers superb support.

Many people over the years will have seen the Silentnight hippo and duck adverts that focus on the “no roll together” benefit of Miracoil beds. The Miracoil system is also quite unique in that the spring response is proportional to weight over a very wide range. This means that the hippo and duck, despite their size difference, can both get the right level of support from the same mattress.
