Background Information

Our first bed superstore commenced trading July 2001. Our format is based on large stores and even larger warehouses that allow customers to take their bed away today. The combination of wide choice, stock on the premises and industry best sales advice and service has proved hugely successful, and this success is allowing us to open stores throughout Scotland.

Each bed superstore has 3 to 4 sales consultants and a warehouseman. Apart from usual shop duties, the shop staff order direct from our suppliers, warehouse on site and manage the delivery service. In this way our customers get the fastest delivery and any customer service issues can be sorted quickly and efficiently. And importantly, you on the shop floor / warehouse are in control.

The warehouse positions involve heavy lifting, but there is also some customer contact and a significant amount of administration. And strangely the sales consultants have a habit of disappearing whenever a 40ft articulated truck appears.

We employ staff from all walks of life and we look for both experienced and inexperienced new people. We have 21 year olds with little prior experience (of anything!) and also of course some very professional furniture retailers -  ex Forrest Furnishings, Reids, Bensons for Beds, Dreams etc

Whatever your background we set up an individual personal training plan that includes industry specific training, general training in sales, customer service, basic management, computing (Microsoft Office) etc. We want you to take charge of your own development and we guide you to the end goal to become a professional, comfortable with your environment and enjoying the challenges we throw at you! You dont have to be a superman or superwoman by the way.

We very much understand that when we ask you for an interview, you are also interviewing us. So in preparation we would encourage you to visit our stores and talk to our staff, normal courtesies prevailing - we have our busy moments. We will be happy to help. However because of the disruption it causes we have to ask you not to phone.

Finally to give you an idea of salary, most of our sales consultants earn between £20k and £25k pa and our warehousemen £14k - £15k pa. After one years service you will be eligible to join the Company Pension Scheme. All sales staff must work weekends and bank holidays.
