Solidly constructed and low to the ground, the Shire Beds king size divan base is perfect for style conscious people who want to create a chic and contemporary looking bedroom.

Manufactured in the UK, the Shire base has a platform style top to provide a solid foundation for an existing or new 5ft mattress and features a choice of faux suede colours.

The Shire Beds base is available in two low options of 5" (13cm) or 8" (20cm) on castors with deeper 10" (25cm) and 12" (30cm) bases that are still lower than a standard 14" (35cm) divan base.

There's the option to upgrade to a reinforced divan, where additional wooden straps are fitted to the framework as well as a double thick top board. This results in a stronger and more durable divan base.

Before adding to basket, just select the base type that suits your needs from the options tabs above. For ease of delivery it comes in two halves that are easily joined using the clips supplied.

The Shire Beds low king size is trendy, modern and comes with a very reasonable price tag.

Needed an extra low divan and this one is perfect.

Complained that the base measured 1530 in width and not 1500 as advertised so therefore my existing mattress dose not fit. They say that it is made to metric measurements and this is the problem, but a feeble excuse as all mattresses and bases are metric so I now have a 15mm gap between mattress and base down both sides of my bed. I am assuming that as no one gets back to me I am stuck with the problem, will certainly not be recommending Archers or Shire Beds anytime soon to any friends.
