Comments about Lpd Flat Packed Oakridge Oak Corner Tv Cabinet:
Advertised on some websites as made from "tropical hardwood" this is, in fact, mostly particle board with an attractive veneer. I was surprised to find a solid wood product at this price, and that's because, in reality, it isn't. Nonetheless, it has an attractive oak veneer which matches, more or less, our oak flooring, and is far better than budget "oak effect" products, which I imagine are not oak at all.
The assembly is a nightmare, which is pretty standard for flat-pack furniture. The instructions say there should be four adjustable feet, when it only actually needs two (there are two other built-in feet at the front). What is really good is that all the bags of screws and each wooden part is numbered with a sticker so they are easy to identify. However, the diagrams still leave some room for interpretation as to the way round certain pieces should be placed, and it is the devil's own job to get all the bolts in place simultaneously to complete construction.
The instructions repeatedly warn against using power tools (such as an electric screwdriver) to assemble. As a result, you have to use a normal screwdriver on some twenty ro thirty screws which makes the task more time-consuming and difficult.
At the end of the day, you've got a piece of attractive furniture which does the job at a reasonable price, although with some effort. Delivery was as specified, fast and efficient, with no problems.
