For extra strength and durability, the mattress is upholstered in a ‘hand tufted’ hard wearing, damask cover.
Hand tufting pre-tensions the mattress to provide a firmer sleeping surface and ensures the fillings stay in place.
The foundation of the mattress is its open coil spring system. It is made up of rows of hourglass shaped open coil springs, also known as Bonnell springs.
Each spring is connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as the helical wire which runs from the head to the foot of the mattress.
The perimeter of the spring unit is strengthened by a thick rod-edge wire that supports the edge of the spring system, preventing border breakdown.
The divan base is upholstered in a neutral coloured faux suede fabric that will easily go with any colour scheme your bedroom may have. It has a solid top (platform style) and sits on contemporary silver glides.
