Highgrove Cirrus Super King Size Mattress
The Cirrus is a substantial mattress at 25cm deep and is upholstered in a hard wearing damask cover with a traditional ‘hand tufted’ finish.
It has a firm open coil spring unit with several layers of fillings on top to add a comfortable sleeping surface. it’s not too firm and not too soft.
Tufting is a process of nylon tapes passed through the mattress at regular intervals and secured on each side. This pre-tensions the mattress to give it a firmer feel and ensures the fillings stay in place.
The mattress has a firm support open coil spring unit, also known as a Bonnell spring. The spring unit is made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as the helical wire.
The edge of the spring unit is strengthened by a rod-edge wire that supports the outside of the springs and helps prevent border breakdown.
