Superior electric adjustable beds at Archers

It’s not easy to find a bed that meets all your needs, but our adjustable beds are made to support your daily life.

Greater joint and back support

If you have stiff joints or experience back pain, our adjustable bases let you change your sleeping angle to help find a position that supports your body and may help relieve pressure.

Increased mobility for easier everyday routine

With a raised bed, you can adjust your position for easier sitting to help make getting in and out of bed easier. With our adjustable beds, you can help maintain both comfort and independence.

Sleep positions made for you

We all have our preferred sleeping positions, and with our electric adjustable beds you can fine-tune your bed to fit you, rather than adapting to an unsupportive bed.

Individual customisable control

We stock king size and super king size beds with split bases that allow each user to adjust their side personally, so you never have to settle for someone else’s preferences.

For those with different sleep preferences when it comes to mattress firmness, we have created a range of dual tension adjustable beds too.

Not only can our beds help as mobility aids and recovery support, but they’re also a premium source of customisable comfort compared to alternative beds.

If you’re in need of other mobility aids, we also offer riser recliner chairs that help you sit and stand more easily.

Adjustable beds FAQs

What are adjustable beds and how do they work?

An adjustable bed is a bed with a 5-way hinged mechanism, powered by motors that allow the head and foot of the bed to elevate or lower, together or separately. This allows you to customise your sleeping or resting position whilst watching TV or relaxing with a good book.

What are the benefits of adjustable beds?

There are several great benefits to adjustable beds apart from the obvious mobility support they provide. These beds can help reduce pressure on joints and specific areas, such as the lower back and neck. Elevating your torso may also help to improve breathing by opening the airways, which can be beneficial for people who snore. Raising your legs when sleeping may help to improve circulation and reduce swelling, which can be useful for managing conditions like oedema.

Can you use a standard mattress on an adjustable bed base?

Yes and no. You can use a non-sprung mattress, such as a reflex foam mattress with memory foam, latex or gel, but adjustable bed mattresses are 10cm longer than a standard single or double mattress. Traditional spring mattresses with wire borders cannot be used as they are not flexible enough to bend as your bed adjusts and can become damaged.
